Eberhard Waffenschmidt and David Reinartz, This publication investigates how the combination of wind and photovoltaic power generation can reduce the demand of external electrical power for a small community in Northern Germany. The exemplary community generates already 260% of their annual energy demand by wind and photovoltaic power. About 80% of the needed power is directly generated locally. The use of storages can improve this ratio. As a result, significantly less storage is necessary compared to solutions for individual households supplied only by PV because of the combination of wind and photovoltaic power. As a further result, the storages should be placed at the generation sites or at the consumers, but not at transformer stations. > Download: Paper as PDF document (0.54 MB), ask webmaster for required password. |
